Former South Side rendering plant wins $11.6 million verdict against Columbus

A former South Side rendering plant has won an $11.6 million verdict against the city of Columbus for a 2005 sewage backup that damaged the business and its equipment. Assistant City Attorney Susan Ashbrook said the city hasn’t decided whether to appeal the verdict, which was reached Friday by a jury in Franklin County Common Pleas Court.
